Agios Stefanos Monastery boasts a long and fascinating history, dating back to the 14th century. The first hermits are believed to have inhabited the rock as early as the 12th century, but the monastery was officially founded in the 14th century by Saint Antonios. The monastery flourished over the centuries, receiving donations and expanding its influence. During World War II, the monastery suffered significant damage, but it was later restored and is now a thriving monastic community. Today, it is a nunnery, offering a peaceful and welcoming atmosphere to visitors. Visitors to Agios Stefanos Monastery can enjoy a variety of activities. Transportation

Agios Stefanos Monastery is easily accessible by car or taxi from Kalambaka or Kastraki. There is a designated parking area near the monastery entrance. From the parking area, a short bridge leads directly to the monastery. Local buses also operate between Kalambaka and the Meteora monasteries, making it convenient to reach the monastery by public transport.
